FOR YOUR INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR T-MOBILE CELL PHONE

SIM Card:

The SIM (Subscriber Identification Module or Subscriber Identity Module) card holds all of a subscriber's personal information and phone settings. In essence, it is the subscriber's authorization to use the network. It also holds the phone number, personal security key and other data necessary for the handset to function. The card can be switched from phone to phone, letting the new phone receive all calls to the subscriber's number.

Foreign SIM Card:

All T-mobile phones are configured to use only T-Mobile brand SIM cards, if you want to use a local/foreign SIM card you may receive an error message saying that the phone is locked-  you will need to unlock it with a password (see instructions following for obtaining a password).    Please note: it is more cost effective to purchase local SIM cards in the country where you are traveling rather than using your cell phone with the international SIM card - the cost per minute is much more economical.   However, your safety is first- don’t put yourself in danger if you do not have a local SIM Card- make that call immediately!
